Early career researchers, originally from the University of Adelaide, have developed a smarter toaster that really could be the best thing since sliced bread!
The toaster uses sensors to determine how toasted the bread is, rather than just how long it’s been toasting – as current applicances do now.
Co-founders Dr Sean Manning, Dr Andrew Richardson and Dr Kristopher Rowland formed their own company, SensAbility, to commercialise the product.
Now three years since the conception of the idea, the inventors are almost ready to market their new product – a toaster that can produce toast to a specific shade, regardless of the type of bread used.
